Robert Nivison

by Alex

Robert became a member of ‘Let it Blaw’ in 1908. He was described in early Club Records as “residing in Lauder”. He attended the Suppers from 1908 through to the Supper of 1914.

He next appeared in Club Records when, in June 1923, an Excursion was organised to Lauder at which time he was the landlord of the Black Bull Hotel there. See 23rd June 1923 – Excursion to Lauder

A check of Scottish records has revealed that Robert was born in Currie in 1871. He was working with the railway in Lauder when, in 1903, he married a local girl.

He was landlord of the Black Bull Hotel in Lauder at the time of the census of 1911, and was obviously still there in 1923.
