20th August 1904 – Excursion to Ayr

The annual excursion of the Club took place this day when 8 Gentlemen were present viz,

David B. Fairbairn

George Calder

George Shiels

Gordon McNeill

Andrew Falconer

John Fairbairn

Robert Jack

Alan Borthwick

(the latter two being friends)

The party took the train at Curriehill to Ayr via Muirkirk.

They drove by brake to the Cottage, Alloway Kirk and the Burns Monument returning by the sea shore.

They had quarters in the Ayr Arms Hotel where dinner and tea were partaken of.

The various places of interest in Ayr were visited including the Tam o’ Shanter Inn

and the Auld Brig before returning by train via Glasgow.

The days outing was much enjoyed.
