Proposer of the Toast  “The Lasses”  1984

Proposer of the Toast  “The Immortal Memory of Robert Burns”  1985

Dave became a member of ‘Let it Blaw’ in 1977.

He was a Chartered Surveyor who stayed with his family in Dalmahoy Crescent, Balerno. He was a native of Ayrshire and member of Irvine Burns Club.  As his credits above show, he had proposed two major Toasts at ‘Let it Blaw’ and it might have been expected to become one of the major figures in our Club.

Unfortunately, he was involved in a road accident on the A71 during 1985 and, following a lengthy period of treatment and care,  succumbed to his injuries. Club Tradition is such that Dave would have given the Appreciation of the ‘Immortal Memory’ at the 1986 Supper. This was done on his behalf by his good friend Jimmy Johnstone.

Dave’s death in 1987 is recorded in Club Minutes.
