John became a member of ‘Let it Blaw’ in 1928. One time President of the Edinburgh Burns Club, John originally attended ‘Let it Blaw’ as a Guest Speaker. Such was the manner in which his oration was appreciated by those present, he was awarded Honorary Membership of ‘Let it Blaw’ and returned in subsequent years as one of the Company.
