Rob attended ‘Let it Blaw’ probably as a guest of John Ross in the mid 1980s. He features in photographs of ‘Let it Blaw’ 1985. It is not thought he was ever a Club Member.
There are no records of how often Rob attended, but he was a regular at the Balerno SNP Burns Supper back in that period. Rob never stayed in Balerno but did have many friends in the area.
Many years later he took his interest in politics to a new level when he became a member of the Scottish Parliament as a Highlands & Islands regional member from 2003 to 2011, then representing the constituency of Caithness, Sutherland and Ross from 2011 to 2016.
