Bob became a member of ‘Let it Blaw’ in the 1960s. Accurate Membership Records from that period have not survived.
He was called “Sweep” to differentiate him from another Bob Brown in the Balerno area in the same era known locally as “Broon o’ the Latch.”
Sweep was not a Balerno man being a life-long resident of Davidson’s Mains. Needless to say, his building business in Davidsons Mains also offered a chimney sweeping service.
