Bob Turnbull was not a member of ‘Let it Blaw’. He was first mentioned in the Club Records of 1955 as Landlord of the Malleny Arms.
He ran a very orderly establishment where the bar staff all wore shirts and ties with white aprons. If beer was spilled on a barman’s apron, he had to change the apron before serving any more drinks. “Loppy” Ramsay worked for Bob through the 1950s and was the haggis bearer at the ‘Let it Blaw’ Suppers during this era long before he actually became a member of the Club.
